Would you ever......

......pay £4.08 for a bottle of water?

I discovered this bottle of Evian water designed by Issey Miyake.

But it seems that I'm late to this party.

Evian have collaborated with designers previously.

Evian and Christian Lacroix

Evian and Jean Paul Gaultier

Evian and Paul Smith

I'm not sure if they are really my thing or not, but just thought what a clever idea to marry fashion and healthy living. And they certainly brightened up the supermarket shelves!

Moaning Mondays......

Every Monday morning I swim in the pool at the local girls school.

Despite being shouted at by an ex Commonwealth medal swimmer to do 'another 4 lengths', I have made some great friends, share gossip and laughter, and of course we moan until 11.30 when its all over and we feel fantastic.

We come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, and I'm afraid its all regulation swimsuits, latex hats and goggles. So we can only dream of looking like these oh so glamorous ladies......

And the best part.....

The delicious Cappuccino waiting for us in the cafe afterwards.

Happy Monday!

White Shirts......

It was while having a clear-out of my sons' wardrobes, I came across a pile of old school shirts.  Now charity shop bound, I started looking for the classic white shirt.

Simple with jeans......

White linen......

 Perfection......

An everyday classic.....

And of course the perfect wardrobe to store them in......

In pursuit of the 'perfect red' (part 1)......

Since starting my blogging adventure, I have found so many Blogs and discovered a whole new world that exists to inform and enrich our lives.

It was while reading the magnificent 'French Essence' I began to think again about the simple art of dressing like French women do.

At almost 53 and looking 52! I have fallen into the old trick of feeling invisible.
So.....what better way to stand out than wearing a beautiful breath taking Red Lipstick.

I have begun my quest to find the  perfect red!!

My only proviso for my first attempt was that it had to be Chanel - why not!!
And my first choice is......

Number 19 - Gabrielle,  a true classic.

I have spent every opportunity trying to catch myself in the mirror, and of course trying to think like a French woman!

The verdict...

Well two good friends have' liked', no 'loved' it.
I think people keep smiling at me- or they could be laughing!!
I don't think my husband has even noticed!!

I'm not sure this is the perfect red me.

I don't think I look like the wonderful Ines de la Fressange yet!......

......but I'm going to stick with it!!

The hunt for the perfect red continues......

Good Bye to the Kings Troop......

It was a sad day in North London yesterday, as the Kings Troop trotted out of the Barracks in St Johns Wood for the last time.

Thousands of  local residents lined the High Street to wish them farewell.

It was an eerily comforting noise,in the early morning, hearing the horses come past the house on the way to their exercise in the park.

You will be missed!

Wrap up warm everyone......

It's going to be a cold one in London this weekend......

I love how this girl is wrapped up against the elements.....

Window shopping......

On a very cold February afternoon in London,  with an hour to spare......

The windows of Bond Street brighten up the day.

Louis Vuitton......

Smythson's......

Globe trotter (Burlington Arcade)....

Diptyque (Brook Street)......

Of course time to stop at the flower stall....

..

Saving the best for last, the Ralph Lauren windows were really quite beautiful, and a nod to spring.

My photos do not do the windows justice, but they were all so very pretty.
