Most of the UK has been festooned with bunting and union Jack flags for the jubilee weekend.
It has all made for a jolly scene - in fact we have all gone a bit bonkers for red, white and blue.

I think we are so lucky to have such a bright, versatile and distinguished flag.
Our streets look much brighter with the bunting and flags - perhaps they should be a permanent feature.
Happy Diamond Jubilee Your Majesty.
Lovely images - I love bunting and I LOVE the Union Jack and its' associated colours all year round - they're so uplifting. Hope that you enjoyed your Jubilee celebrations, I did mine, although I'm still recovering from the long weekend, PLUS half term PLUS a family visit - I currently have 7 children under the age 12 in the house - exhausting!!!

7 children- oh boy that's exhausting, noisy but a lot of fun!!
DeleteMy boys are off travelling at the moment so our bank holiday was a little quieter!
yaaaaay for the Union Jack!
On television I have seen a part of the concert near Buckingham Palace. One month ago we visited London so it's was so special to see it again and to recognize it!

Hi Ingrid,
DeleteYes, I think we did ourselves proud in London this weekend.
Hope you have a lovely week.

Hi Liz - I'm so jealous you all had a 4 day weekend. We love The Queen, too, but had to go back to work on Monday :(
ReplyDeleteAnd, yes, love the Union Jack: truly festive, patriotic and stylish. Uber cool!!
Cheers!
Loi
'Uber cool'- a great expression!
DeleteSome of the weekend was, 'uber cool', some was old fashioned tradition, but it was all great fun.
Sometimes its good to have a bit of colour in our lives.
Happy days!

I loved all the union jacks in the streets. I agree, it's such a great flag and looks terrific in interiors x
ReplyDeleteI think we have all taken the Union Jack for granted - so it was great to see all of the bunting and flags in the streets.
DeleteI think we're going to see a lot more of it this year with the Olympics coming up!
Have a lovely day.

ReplyDeleteOh, I wish now that I had bought the British flag pillow that I saw yesterday! I agree, it is bright, and of course it was once our(Canadian) flag too! Why didn't I buy it when I had the chance?! Ugh! I will go back, hopefully it will still be in the little shop where I found it....then it will go to my tack room, place it on my highback chair, and I will think of the Queen, hoping that I too, will still be riding in my 80's:) Happy Day! Brenda.
ReplyDeleteHi Brenda,
DeleteIsn't that always the way though? When will we learn that we should always buy things(if possible!) when we see them!
I think we forget that Her Majesty is in her 80's. I'll have what she's taking!!
Have a lovely weekend.

Hope you are enjoying all the celebrations. I have to agree I think the British flag is great and the bunting is just so festive it would be great if they could leave it up all year round!! I love the Vivienne Westwood rug, it works so well. Enjoy!!
