You never quite know from year to year how it's going to perform, but the massive rainfall we have experienced recently here in the UK has brought it on leaps and bounds this week......
I think in another week or so we hopefully should see it in all its glory.
I'll keep you posted.
Looking ahead to a lovely summer!

Oh Liz - your home looks absolutely beautiful! The Juliette balcony, the gravel drive, the gorgeous sash windows - absolute perfection! Do I also spy the tantalising glimpse of a magnificent entrance with columns???
ReplyDeleteHowever, back on topic - I adore wisteria - particularly on the front of a house - so romantic, and the best colour ever! A lovely post - I look forward to seeing more. Enjoy the rest of your week. Paula xx
Hi Paula,
DeleteThank you for your lovely comments as always.
Like you, we are very lucky to live in an old house with many amazing original features.
The reality is, that we bought the house with a view to doing a complete re furb. However, due to the recession, we couldn't/wouldn't undertake such a major project.
I'm not complaining, we are really happy here-it's just that we are more shabby than chic!
Have a great day.

Hi again Liz - SNAP! That's why nobody sees too many interior shots of my house as yet - lol! We're still living with deep red and green mock regency wallpaper in our dining and drawing rooms from the previous owners - yuk! However, that's all about to change soon, but it's taken 2 years for us to start!

p.s. I have just been over to see Loi's garden this morning and I'm feeling faint with garden envy - isn't it just A-MAZING!
Liz - Please do share more photos of your home and gardens! Your home looks absolutely GORGEOUS!! Our wisteria vines are about to do their thing, as well. Unfortunately, we did not inherit them....garden center bought! :-( From my garden to yours,

Hi Loi,
DeleteThank you for your kind comments.
I guess there is plenty of scope for posts in our own homes and gardens.
My photography is a bit hit and miss however, and I love the 'perfection' that can be found on Pinterest and tumblr!
See note to Paula above-we are along way from perfect here!
Have a lovely day,
Lizx
The gnarly wisterias are such a joy when they are in full bloom ... and yours is beautiful Liz ... looking forward to more images!
ReplyDeleteAs for the rain ... it's done wonders for the English gardens ... everything looks so clear, green and beautiful after the rain ... just hope we dont get hail to destroy all the blossoms.
Have a great week.
xx
Your so lucky, Our wisteria which has been growing through and around the railings looks like its died! (sad face!) I think one side is still ok and the other has gone. Its such a shame.Sam (who was the head gardener in Tatton Park) said we'd be best to cut it back after its flowered and give the life to the side thats ok. Im gutted!
ReplyDeleteYes, we're very lucky that the wisteria is pretty established. I also know how tricky they can be.
DeleteI guess cutting it right back might be your best option.
Hope it comes back next year.

Oh, you lucky thing! How gorgeous. I would love some at the front of my house but have nowhere to plant it :o(
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll take photos in full bloom. Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend. Hugs, B x
Hi B,

Hope you have a lovely chilly bank holiday too!
