......to completely mis-quote The Carpenters circa 1971.
I very rarely write and publish my posts on the same day - for one thing it takes me ages to get my act together. Not because I'm perfecting my art, but because I'm just very slow!
But this was the sky that we woke to this morning followed by torrential rain and winds - meaning that we had a different day to the one we had planned. So I thought I'd get down in pictures how our day panned out......
We didn't go for the run that usually starts our Sunday......

And the dogs refused to leave the house for their walk......

We drank copious amounts of coffee with delicious croissants......

We cozied up the house......

And I lit some candles that I was saving for .....ha!...... a rainy day......

After lunch, Mr.Snowdrop watched some footie, giving me time to write this blog......

And in the evening we watched two films - an old Woody Allen and the very powerful Dallas Buyers Club......

All in all, it was a pretty exhausting Sunday!

Ok, so I didn't quite get my post finished in time......
But just look at the sky we woke to this morning......
What a difference a day makes!
Hope you have a lovely week,

Hi Liz,
ReplyDeleteSuch typical British weather …… it wouldn't suprise me if it snowed either !! Sounds as if you had a very full but easy Sunday. Just how I like it !!!
Thanks for your comment today …… and you said what I forgot to say. I always think I am playing Russian roulette when I eat oysters. I usually have my fingers crossed when I eat them !! XXXX
Snow in August - now wouldn't that be something?!
DeleteIt was quite nice to just stay at home and chill - but we were exhausted at the end of the day!

Sounds like a perfect Sunday Liz!

Perfect - but not the summers days we had been used to!

Sounds like a lovely day nevertheless! It was the same in Holland. I managed to spent a few hours in the garden before we had torrential rain too.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of the week!

I'm always grateful for rain for the garden. everything is looking lovely and green again and not the usual parched brown.

Such a coincidence as it is pouring here in DC! And I am catching up on blogs from being away.....with my 3rd cup of coffee and an almond croissant. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteThe weather is bonkers everywhere at the moment Loi! I always say that we get 'your' weather - and this was quite extreme.
DeleteAlmond croissant - my favourite too!
