Lollipop, lollipop......

V. busy in the garden at Snowdrop towers at the moment.

It's 'open gardens' time again - I mentioned it in a past blog here, and two years has passed very quickly.

From my bedroom window it looks blooming marvelous......

but up close and personal it looks in need of some urgent care and attention.

Nice but bit lazy gardener has gone AWOL, so its all hands on deck to knock it into shape before we open the garden gates on the 22nd of June - I've even had to acquaint myself with the power hose...... but I digress......

My perfect garden would be very formal. I love the form and structure of box hedging, and I don't need a lot of colour - perhaps a touch of white from a lacy viburnum......

Or an old favourite Hydrangea......

In this case Hydrangea Annabelle.

But pride of place would go to topiary specimen in the form of 'lollipops'.

  5. Your lawn is looking so neat and I too like white flowers against rich and vibrant green . I love topiary and we're planning to visit Levens Hall again soon as it's a while since we last enjoyed their beautiful topiary gardens.

  6. Stunning lawn! It's funny how your bedroom window view is so similar to my own (yours is much neater! however!) I'm totally with you on formal gardens with lots of green and white and box hedging, although I'm considering introducing some more colour into my own borders (sadly i'm not green fingered by any means so this may prove to be a struggle!) By the way, I keep meaning to ask - are you on Instagram?
    Best wishes,

  7. Stunning Liz! So lovely that you have shared your garden with us again! As you may have gathered, I am too, very partial (obsessed?) to topiary and white…..

    Happy weeding! Happy week….

  10. Hello Liz, I love all those things you mentioned especially the hydrangea. I don't seem to be disciplined enough to stick to it though and get very distracted by anything pretty. Good luck with the weeding and the open days (wish I lived nearby). Love Linda x
